How to setup/reset Chromecast and Enjoy Latest Contents on old TV
Sometimes, a smartphone is more comfortable than a TV. This is also the case when you want to find another video about the product in the TV immediately and also you want to see the first episode of the program you are watching.
You can easily find and play a variety of videos you like with your smartphone. You search and play repeatedly until you find the content you like. Finally you play your favorite video but the small screen sometimes looks stuffy. Also when replying to a message, you have to constantly switch back and forth between the message screen and video.
You can watch the video on the big screen and seamlessly on the TV but the video you can watch is limited to the TV contents.
The biggest advantage of Chromecast, and different from mirroring, is that you can easily search with your mobile phone and view it on the big screen. At the same time, you can send messages or do other tasks with your mobile phone.

Appearance and Components – 2nd Generation
I am using a 2nd generation Chromcast. The box includes 1 x Chromecast, 1 x cable and 1 x adapter. You can connect the power directly to the TV’s USB port or use an adapter for models without USB port. I briefly compared each model.
The 3rd generation looks more cool! But the 2nd gen also works great so if I upgrade, 4K Chromecast will be good.
Chromecast Settings
For setting, it is recommended to download the Google Home app on your phone in advance. When Chromecast is powered on, a screen asking you to download the Google home app appears as shown in the following picture.
Afterwards, when you check the current device through the Google Home app and register Wi-Fi, the screen is automatically set.
Apps for Chromecast
There are various apps for Chromecast and you can find more supported apps in the Google Store(View in Google Store).

If the app has the following icon, it means that Chromecast is supported. To cast your screen to your TV, simply tap this icon and specify the device to connect to. The following picture is actual screen from Netflix and YouTube.
Playing YouTube video with Chromecast and Google Home
The function to play by voice is a bit disappointing. First of all, video and music played on Google Home are basically searched on YouTube, but it can not be used without YouTube Premium.
And it seems that the video played on YouTube is searched first, so if you ask the same question, almost the same video is played first. I already saw it last time!
Reset Chromecast
If you change your Wi-Fi router or have other problems, you can reset Chromecast. First, delete the device from the Google Home app. After then, press and hold the reset button on the side for 10 seconds.
1. Delete the device from the app
Google Home app – Chrome cast icon – settings – Delete device
2. Reset from the device
There is a button on the side of Chromecast. If you keep pressing this button for 10 seconds, initialization starts. After that, you can register in the same way as when you first set it up
Review
This product seems to be much more useful on a non-smart TV. Because it is possible that you play more diverse mobile contents on the non-smart TV in addition to the basic TV channels. It’s as if the old TV became the new TV It is great for playing contents on the TV or monitor in the room or when you want to watch video on the TV in the office or store.
Also, unlike mirroring, after casting the video to Chromecast you can freely do other work with your mobile phone. As long as you don’t pause or the video ends, it will play without interruption.
However to use Chromecast you may need to pay an additional fee depending on the app. But I think there are a lot more advantages over disadvantages.
